Takeaways From The ONE Thing
Published September 21, 2025This was the first book on my reading list for the remainder of the year. I found it to be an easy read, but one with some powerful revelations.
My current priority is to finish all the books I’ve chosen. Completing them will give me a clearer sense of direction for how to move forward in life. Naturally, that also means I’ll be focusing on one book at a time. I had been reading some Seneca on the side, but this book convinced me to concentrate my efforts.
The book emphasizes the importance of having a big goal in life. Such a goal allows us to orient our present actions so that their trajectory is more likely to lead us toward achieving it. If your goal is small, then your actions will be small.
Some other key points include: ensuring your environment and the people around you support your goals; seeking mentors who will guide you and hold you accountable; creating a schedule with most of your time dedicated to productive work; taking care of your health and spending time with your family; holding yourself responsible for everything that happens to you; and living without regrets.
The next book on my list is Atomic Habits by James Clear.
